Speaking Requests

Are You Ready to Take Back Your Temple?

When it comes to obesity issues, many speakers are like travel agents; they can tell you where to go, but have never been there. But Kimberly Floyd has the wisdom of a tour guide. Not only has she experienced the struggles of obesity firsthand, but she can help others get out of the diet pit—and stay out for life!

“Kimberly’s ministry ‘Take Back Your Temple’ was introduced to Liberty Temple last year at a women’s seminar that we hosted.  She was one of the speakers and her presentation was very informative and well received by the attendees. Based on our experience with Kimberly, we are looking forward to being a host church to support the efforts of this ministry. This will provide us an opportunity to educate our church members along with the community on the importance of nutrition, physical activity and maintaining an all-around healthy lifestyle.”  -  M. Howard, Liberty Temple Christian Church

Kimberly Floyd has 15 years of health education and training experience through formal nursing practice (as an R.N. for many years) and research on the relationship between nutrition, physical activity, and chronic disease. She is a certified wellness coach through Wellcoaches Corporation.

She is the author of the book Moneywise Weight Loss: The Faith-based Plan for Building a Better Body on a Budget and the ebook Take Back Your Temple: How to Achieve Healthy Weight Loss God’s Way. Kim’s weight loss success story has been featured in Prevention Magazine, Charisma Magazine, the Atlanta Journal/Constitution, and many other magazines and newspapers. She has also been interviewed for The 700 Club on CBN and various radio programs.

“Just wanted to again thank you for sharing your unique and engaging presentation to help us take back our temples! You were truly a blessing and I know that many were enlightened by what you shared.”  – D. Turner, Turner Chapel AME

Kim has a heart for others who struggle with weight and debt…once 240 pounds, a size 22, and in $19,000 worth of credit card debt, she can testify of God’s goodness and healing power in these areas. Desperate to change her debt situation, she took a Crown Ministries course to learn how to manage money from a biblical perspective.

She used its principles to pay off her debt, and then used her new discipline to implement healthy eating and exercise habits. She was then able to achieve and maintain her ideal weight. This experience prompted her to establish Take Back Your Temple, whose title challenges people of faith to take back their bodies, health, and lives.

Kim exhorts people of faith to become good stewards of all the resources God has given to them, including time, money, talents, and physical health. “I am passionate about empowering others to adopt healthy lifestyles so they can fulfill their God-given purpose,” she says.

“My dream is for God’s people to truly stand apart because we are healthy, prosperous and living the abundant life to which we are called. But before we can transform our bodies and finances, we must first renew our minds. I want non-believers to look at us and want what we have: financial, spiritual, mental, and physical wholeness. Then when they ask us what we are doing differently, we are ready to tell them about Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.”

Speaking Topics

Take Back Your Temple

Using the theme of building a house, Kim teaches us about the value of our bodies in dollars and cents. She gives little-known facts about how the body renews itself from day to day and how we help or hinder that process through the foods we eat and the movement we make. She challenges us to create a vision for the level of health we want to experience in this life and provides a process for getting there. Note: This topic is available as a stand-alone speech and in workshop form.

Renew Your Mind, Transform Your Body

Have you ever wondered why changing habits is so hard? Kim enlightens us on how the brain works and the reasons it resists change so strenuously. She also gives us three keys to overcoming the brain’s resistance to change and how to reprogram it so that it supports our weight loss efforts rather than sabotage them.

Are You Running on Empty? (Especially for women)

Are you tired all the time? Have you lost your joy? Kim tackles the ‘Martha’ spirit that so many women have these days head on; that spirit keeps you so busy tending to everyone else’s needs that you completely neglect your own. Kim asserts that you can’t give what you don’t have; like a well, you can only give to others when you are full. Otherwise, ‘Martha’ becomes a martyr.

If you find yourself consistently placing yourself last on your own priority list, then you need to hear what Kim has to say about how to bring your life back into balance so you can regain lasting joy and fulfillment.
