I am adding a new section to the website. Many of you know that I mention my fiance’, Mike, from time to time in my emails. Mike is a powerful prayer warrior and often writes prayers that strengthen and encourage me and his colleagues. I think these prayers would be also be a great source of encouragement for you in your Christian weight loss journey.

I am praying for freedom from depression and feeling unimportant which has resulted in my weight gain.
In our family I am in charge of managing the finances and I have this weakness of going out to eat when I feel bad about myself and not feeling like cooking. As a result I feel bad about spending our family’s money and then I get depressed and then the cycle continues. I am a very healthy eater. I was raised in Bulgaria and everything we ate growing up was healthy and natural. Please pray for me that I can stay strong in the Word of God and begin exercising on a regular basis.

I need prayer for freedom from feeling people don’t take me serious because of my weight. I use to be slim but was diagnosed with PCOS at age 25. I pray for healing from PCOS. I want to love myself now as I am before the weight comes off. I need deliverance from depression and a food addiction. I desire an intimate relationship with God. I need motivation.

The Holy Spirit has been convicting me in regards to my food addiction for some time. Three days ago I stumbled upon this website and what an inspiration it is to me. I thank Him for bringing it to me. I have a long way to go but I want to have “no other Gods before Him”. Please pray for me.

      Hi Felicia,

You are definitely in my prayers. May I make a suggestion? I recommend that you get some paper and a pen – don’t do this on a computer but write longhand. Write about what your ideal day looks like – one in which depression, PCOS, and food addiction are no longer a part of your life. Then ask God to show you what actions you need to take to make this day a reality – starting now. Write down everything he tells you to do. Now, look at those actions – which one are you willing to do first? Make it an easy step forward. Just work on that one step this week. Then next week – see how you feel. Are you getting closer to that ideal day or further away? If you are getting closer, pick another action on your list to try – while continuing to work on the one you started last week.

Taking small steps toward the life you want everyday will give you confidence. As you take action, you will start to take yourself more seriously and other people will begin to sense that – and treat you more seriously.

Felicia – action is the key to your deliverance. Even small steps will help you heal. Motivation will only get you so far. Start acting the way you want to feel. At first, it will feel strange but eventually your feelings will catch up to your actions. Try it and see. God bless you!

I will pray for you as well Laura – I made this suggestion to another reader and here it is in part: I recommend that you get some paper and a pen – don’t do this on a computer but write longhand. Then ask God to show you what actions you need to take to make this day a reality – starting now. Write down everything he tells you to do. I am praying to lose 30-40 pounds to regain my good health and to be a great wife to my husband. I spend more time in the hospital & Dr offices than I do any where. Since we are a miltary family; the time we have together is very limited and when he is home I’m always ill, in the hospital or just feeling too mean because I do not feel good about myself. Pray that God can help me to do what I need to do to shed atleast 30-40 pounds. Not only will losing weight-save my life; it will also save my marriage.

    8. Luanne says:

Please pray for my fear to step out into the community and seek exercise groups. I used to do this, and now I don’t…new city, new people, I need friendships…thank you so much.
      Blessings,
      Luan

Hi Amy – My husband and I will certainly add you to our prayer list. You can do ALL things through Christ!

    10. kimf says:

Hi Luanne – I will certainly pray for you. What is the easiest thing you can do today and get started? Can you just look online to see if there are any exercise groups in your area? Just start small and work your way into it slowly. You can do this!
