This one I am a little nervous about. I don’t like spicy foods. I am concerned that I won’t like my food if I do this, so I am very hessitant about it. I will start this small and see how it goes. If it boosts my metabolism, maybe it will be worth it….

  • Becky Jane says:

I already take cayenne caps, but it will be fun to add red pepper flakes to my food for a change! This will be a fun one!

  • Kathy says:

I drink warm water in the mornings with lemon and a couple dashes of cayenne pepper. I was afraid it would be horrible tasting, but I love it. Adds a nice kick to the lemon.

  • I take my vitamins with something to eat, because that is what the directions tell me. Day 17: I forgot what day I was on. I already eat spicy food. However, I am going to add these spices more often to my food. That might explain why Mexicans are thinner. I have a son in law who is Mexican. His mom taught my daughter how to cook some of their foods. They add jalapenos to just about everything. She uses a lot of hot sauce to.

  • Shawna says:

Ha! Had already added cayenne to my green tea with lemon juice and stevia, based on a former “liver cleanse” I had done in the past. Yay! The folks at work thought I was CRAZY! I love spicy foods, add heat whenever I can. I’ll keep adding it to as much as I can!

I think you need to adjust the amount of cayenne pepper you add to your glass of V-8. 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper probably ought to be a “dash” because that’s about all anyone could handle! Funny story, I grabbed the cayenne pepper instead of the cinnamon one morning and shook a bit into my husband’s oatmeal…quite a wakeup call for him!
p.s. I’m enjoying reading your site.. lots of good biblical perspective on issues of caring for our temple! Thank you and God bless you!

    • Ha, ha! Thank you, Barbara – I changed the article to “some” because I didn’t measure the cayenne pepper and it may have been less than a teaspoon. Sorry about your husband’s wakeup call 🙂
