The Wake Up and Live Challenge

Some of you who might be asking yourself about life, ''Is this all there is?''

Unfortunately, the answer is ''Yes'' unless you change it.

Learn 3 mindset shifts to make for drastic improvement in your life from my video and message text below.

I know it will inspire you!

I was thinking about a story that I heard many years ago about a young man on a beach.

He was walking along and he happened to notice that there were thousands of starfish that had washed up on the beach.

As he walked along he encountered an old man. The old man was walking along too except that he was picking up a starfish one by one and tossing it back into the ocean.

The young man looked at the old man for a minute, then he finally walked up to the old man and he said, ”Why are you doing that? What you are doing is a waste of time.”

The old man didn’t comment, but he just simply stopped and picked up another starfish and he tossed it back into the ocean.

Then he turned to the young man and he said, “It made a difference to that one!”

That is one of the things that I want you to think about in terms of wake up and live. Because what you are doing may not have a worldwide impact, but it’s making a difference in somebody’s life.

One of the things that the enemy likes to do is he likes to make us think that what we do does not make a difference and every choice that we make it doesn’t matter in the end.

But it is a lie.

I think about the scripture from John 10:10 in which Jesus said:

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

– John 10:10

In this message, ”Wake up and live,” I’m asking you to embrace each day of your life as the unique gift of God that it is.

Refuse to sleepwalk through your life, but embrace life with all of its challenges, with all of its heartache, with all of its frustrations.

Because even within the heartaches, the frustration and the challenges that you face there is still love, joy, peace. Many things are to be gained when you embrace life and wake up and live.

There are three mindset shifts that I’m also going to challenge you to make each day of your life that God has given you:

1. ”Act as if it is impossible to fail”

So many times, we’re so fixated on ”What if I do this and what if it fails?”

That robs us of our courage and we don’t even try.

I want you to say to yourself, ”Act as if it’s impossible to fail. If God be for me who can be against me?”

I want you to start thinking about having a ”No regrets” life from here on.

Say to yourself, ”If God has put this in my heart to do, then I am going to go ahead and do it. I will act as if it’s impossible to fail and give it my very best shot. ”

Because even if you fall short and it doesn’t turn out the way that you wanted it to, at least you’ll have the satisfaction of ”Hey, I did my best and I learned something from the experience. I don’t have the regret of ‘What if I had gone for it?”’

So act as if it’s impossible to fail because you have God on your side and just go for it. Just go ahead and do it.

2. Ask yourself, ”What am I creating today?”

I believe that each day can be a creative act when you recognize the uniqueness of each day, that you don’t take it for granted, and that you don’t sleepwalk through your life day by day!

Instead, you wake up and you embrace each day and think to yourself, ”What can I create today?”

Maybe you can create:

  • A new relationship
  • A new way of doing things
  • A different outfit combination
  • A painting
  • A poem

But think each day: ”What can I create today?”

Reinvent each day. Make it something new.

3. Ask yourself, ”What can I do today that will make my life easier or better tomorrow?”

This goes aalong with that second question, ”What can I create today?”

Yesterday evening I asked myself, ”What can I do today to make my life easier or better tomorrow?”

One of the things that I did was I plan the things I wanted to accomplish today.

The other thing I did was clean up the kitchen before I went to bed because I knew that would make my life easier today.

The other thing that I thought about was to set out some things related to what I planned to do today.

For example, I planned to record some audio for an audio book that I’m working on. So I put the text that I planned to record from on my desk ahead of time.

So start thinking in terms of that. What can you do today that will make your life easier or better tomorrow?

You may decide to drink the water amount that you know is best for your body. That will make your life easier tomorrow.

You may decide to do a couple of extra push-ups.

Or you may decide to do some squats.

Do something that will make your life better tomorrow by what you do today!

Once again, I want to challenge you with the thought of ”Wake up and live.” Refuse to sleepwalk through your day and just think of it as an ordinary day.

It is not an ordinary day if you choose to wake up and live!

Take the ”Wake up and Live” challenge day by day.

I promise you that your life will improve drastically!

  • Beautiful message, Kimberly. One we should all take to heart. It was confirmation to me that what I’m doing is making a difference even if it’s only for one person or a few. God bless you, Kim. May He build you up in ways you never imagined!

    • Oh, I receive that Laura and pray that blessing back for you. May the Lord be glorified in our lives day by day, choice by choice!

  • Thanks Ms. Kimberly for this words of encouragement. These three step have given me an added look on the abundance life GOD has given me back.
    Blessings.

  • I am so thankful for the difference you make in so many lives, including mine! More times than I can count, your words not only minister grace, but they are just what I need at the time. Only the Holy Spirit can do that 🙂

  • Your message really hit home today. The thing I love about your 3 points is that it doesn’t matter how big or how “little” our daily objectives are, if we will simply BE INTENTIONAL about those 3 goals daily — and whatever we do, do it as unto the Lord! — then I truly believe — and agree with you — that we will feel more fulfilled, productive, and happy with our day-to-day lives.

    • That is a great point, Shana! I believe it is all about forward motion and refusing to treat our days as ordinary. They are not. The fact that we breathe is a miracle. So we should make our lives count. Many blessings to you, Sister as you make you life count!

  • Thank you for all that you do, Kimberly. I followed your program many years ago and now I enjoy all of your messages because they inspire me And give me something to think about

  • Kimberley, I want to thank you so much for your wisdom + dedication through your ministry. Your messages have really blessed, encouraged + inspired me. God Bless you abundantly

  • This is very inspiring to me today, I woke up and I didn’t want to get out of bed. When I did this was in my email. Thank you so much for putting this message to all who want to hear from Him thru His messenger. Keep the good fight. I am usually not a responder, but I did and I am glad that I did.

  • Thank you Kimberly for Wake up and Live. My husband and I have been married for almost 45 years. I’m in full time ministry. Because of life’s challenges we have been living in rut. Thank you for challenge to live as if I can’t fail, to create something new and to look at what can do today to make my life easier tomorrow. I’m in! I will let you know what Jesus does! Blessings to you! Robyn

    • That is awesome, Robyn. Someone once said that the only difference between a rut and the grave is the depth of the hole! So getting out of the rut and re-inventing each day is a great idea to keep things fresh. Many blessings to you on this journey!
