Prayer Corner

I am adding a new section to the website. Many of you know that I mention my fiance’, Mike, from time to time in my emails. Mike is a powerful prayer warrior and often writes prayers that strengthen and encourage me and his colleagues. I think these prayers would be also be a great source of encouragement for you in your Christian weight loss journey.

i am praying for deliverance from my food addiction. Please pray for me.

  • Stella says:

I am praying for freedom from depression and feeling unimportant which has resulted in my weight gain.
In our family I am in charge of managing the finances and I have this weakness of going out to eat when I feel bad about myself and not feeling like cooking. As a result I feel bad about spending our family’s money and then I get depressed and then the cycle continues. I am a very healthy eater. I was raised in Bulgaria and everything we ate growing up was healthy and natural. Please pray for me that I can stay strong in the Word of God and begin exercising on a regular basis.

  • Felicia says:

I need prayer for freedom from feeling people don’t take me serious because of my weight. I use to be slim but was diagnosed with PCOS at age 25. I pray for healing from PCOS. I want to love myself now as I am before the weight comes off. I need deliverance from depression and a food addiction. I desire an intimate relationship with God. I need motivation.

      Hi Felicia,

You are definitely in my prayers. May I make a suggestion? I recommend that you get some paper and a pen – don’t do this on a computer but write longhand. Write about what your ideal day looks like – one in which depression, PCOS, and food addiction are no longer a part of your life. Then ask God to show you what actions you need to take to make this day a reality – starting now. Write down everything he tells you to do. Now, look at those actions – which one are you willing to do first? Make it an easy step forward. Just work on that one step this week. Then next week – see how you feel. Are you getting closer to that ideal day or further away? If you are getting closer, pick another action on your list to try – while continuing to work on the one you started last week.

Taking small steps toward the life you want everyday will give you confidence. As you take action, you will start to take yourself more seriously and other people will begin to sense that – and treat you more seriously.

Felicia – action is the key to your deliverance. Even small steps will help you heal. Motivation will only get you so far. Start acting the way you want to feel. At first, it will feel strange but eventually your feelings will catch up to your actions. Try it and see. God bless you!

The Holy Spirit has been convicting me in regards to my food addiction for some time. Three days ago I stumbled upon this website and what an inspiration it is to me. I thank Him for bringing it to me. I have a long way to go but I want to have “no other Gods before Him”. Please pray for me.

I will pray for you as well Laura – I made this suggestion to another reader and here it is in part: I recommend that you get some paper and a pen – don’t do this on a computer but write longhand. Then ask God to show you what actions you need to take to make this day a reality – starting now. Write down everything he tells you to do. • Amy says:

I am praying to lose 30-40 pounds to regain my good health and to be a great wife to my husband. I spend more time in the hospital & Dr offices than I do any where. Since we are a miltary family; the time we have together is very limited and when he is home I’m always ill, in the hospital or just feeling too mean because I do not feel good about myself. Pray that God can help me to do what I need to do to shed atleast 30-40 pounds. Not only will losing weight-save my life; it will also save my marriage.

  • Luanne says:

Please pray for my fear to step out into the community and seek exercise groups. I used to do this, and now I don’t…new city, new people, I need friendships…thank you so much.
    Blessings,
    Luan

    • kimf says:

Hi Luanne – I will certainly pray for you. What is the easiest thing you can do today and get started? Can you just look online to see if there are any exercise groups in your area? Just start small and work your way into it slowly. You can do this!

  • LaVonne says:

I thank you for your strong stand for God in this time when such a thing isn’t very popular. I pray for you daily now that I discovered your site about two weeks ago. I really like this Prayer Corner also.
Please pray for my health. I have five disorders but my most aggresive one is my Rhumatoid Arthuritus. I have choosen to take a natural route for my RA. I am now at stage 3 and no medication. It is hard. I MUST rely on God daily just to get out of bed. I am now using a cain to walk and a wheelchair in my classroom. But God is good. Our prayer is that I can hear His voice and find that which He desires me to share as He leads me to healing.

  • Tandy says:

Please pray for me, i need to lose weight, i am weak and i need prayer to get me to were i need to be, spiritualy, mentally, physically and finacialy. please pray.

  • teak says:

I want to respond in the spirit and not turn to food in a marriage challenge. Due to the pressure he feels from a financial crisis, my husband has had patterns of anger and blame, sometimes not just being unkind but also demeaning. I don’t want to internalize that any longer and end up turning to food to comfort me and take away the pain caused. I have plunged into some serious binges over it and after several months of those patterns had very bad results with my weight.

  • Heather says:

Please pray that i can overcome the need to self medicate with food. I will do great all day then there will be an issue or situation that will send me over the edge and I will then eat everything in sight. My husband has been laid off since December. THere does not look like there is anything in the near future and I am a fultime student. I work part time as a substitute for the local schools but there isnt always work.
    May God Bless you
    Heather

  • Kianna says:

pray i need a good paying job tolose 100lbs join a church.

  • Kristen says:

For Kianna: “Eat to Live” by Dr. Fuhrman. Fabulous book on health. As a Registered Nurse, I look for other healing methodologies and have been reminded that God so graciously gave us ALL things necessary for health. I am now taking BarleyMax and feel better (pysically) and yet, I struggle so much with depression. I am going to commit to the 5 steps to overcome depression listed on this site. I will keep you posted.
I believe I focus too much on the cares of the world and yet, they are real and I am a realist. I too need a job! Everyone believes nurses always have a job but that is not always the case. Facilities would rather hire the new grads than experienced Registered Nurses as the new grads are cheaper.
    Please pray for me also!

  • Marla says:

I am having difficulties trusting and believing in God. I am angry and hurt for what he allowed to happen in my past and I don’t understand why. I am struggling with anxiety/worry. I need peace that passes all understanding and to know and believe, completely that God Loves Me. Thank you.

  • KB says:

I pray that Gods will be done. I am working on my mind. I want to be kind and loving. I do not want to be mean. My job as a teacher requires that I be firm, but I want to be more understanding. I teach Physical education and I am going to loose wight. I am over 40lbs, heavier than I should be. I was doing good with exercise then I hurt my knee an old injury, so I feel really bad I cant do as much,. I know it takes time, but God comes in there. Give me peace in my heart. I love to move and now I move slower.
