    I am already taking a multi vitamin & fish oil ; but have always taken them after a meal . Just wondering if before or after a meal makes any difference .

      Hi Maria – thanks so much for your comments – To answer your question about when you should take fish oil and your multivitamin…I take mine after a meal as well because that is what the instructions recommend. Vitamins can cause stomach upset in some people if they take them on an empty stomach so I’d recommend you stick with taking them after a meal.

    I think along with being mindful of portion control and mindful eating, I really need to pray for deliverance of glutony, I just can’t seem to stop in the evening’s after dinner. I have tried tea and just about everything else. Pleae keep me in prayer, there is strength in numbers.

      Hi Rose – I am just catching up to the posts here. I am praying for you and I have a question for you. Regarding gluttony, you say: “I just can’t seem to stop in the evenings after dinner.” Do you really believe that you can’t stop? I am curious about your beliefs on that. Think about it and post back.

    I work part time, and when I get home I eat dinner. I then feel really sleeping. I sleep for about 4 hours, I know I can sleep more. Then I stay up untill 2am. Then off to bed I go. Do you think that I am not eating the right way, since I feel sleeping. Do I need for veggies, and fruits? I then think , can it be a medical thing?

      Hi Linda – I appreciate your question. I recommend that you eat more vegetables and fruits because it’s generally a good thing to do health-wise, but it’s hard to answer your question specifically because many things can cause you to be sleepy in the evening. For example…do you get up really early in the morning? Do you eat a large dinner at night (heavy on the bread, pasta, rice, or junk food)? Is your part-time job mentally or physically stressful? Do you drink a lot of caffeine (coffee, tea, Red Bull)?

      Here’s an example: I eat a healthy dinner, but I start getting sleepy around 7 pm. I generally sleep for 2 hours, wake up and then stay awake for about 2 hours before going to bed for real. But I trace it to the fact that I typically get up around 4 or 5 a.m.! So it makes sense that I’d start getting sleepy around 7 pm because by then I’ve been awake for about 15 hours. I am a true morning person.

    I currently take a multi-vitamin, 1000mg of vitamin C, 4000mg of Cinnimon and it has some metabolism thing in it too. I used to take a fish oil vitamin but I never noticed a difference. I will start taking one again in the morning.

    p.s. that is weird to me to hear you both say that you take a 7pm nap???

    Adding fish oil along with my multi-vit. ALIVE Mulit-vits, are the best I’ve found so far.

  • I already take supplements. I take a multivitamin, vitamin c or B, I can’t remember, and a vitamin that fights against free radicals and over 60 diseases. I market for a company that manufactures supplements, along with other diet and health aids. They just came out with new products I can’t wait to try. One of them is actually a Creme Delight with Omega 3’s in them. I will be ordering it next month. It comes in a liquid format and you only have to take a Tbls once a day. Omega 3 is also good for the brain. It helps with your memory. The company that I market for just got a patent on their vitamins. You get 80% more of the vitamin than you would any other vitamin because of the way they are made. Our body absorbs them better.

    here is where i am. i think i am doing pretty good. me and the stretching i haven’t kept up with. i take the vitamins with breakfast. i tried on an empty stomach and it made me sick. breakfast with vitamin and fish oil.

    I work weekends, so I keep going, but don’t always get to post until Monday. I really like posting… it keeps me thinking about the steps, and I hope that it is maybe helping someone out there that started with me that isn’t comfortable with posting for whatever reason. If you’re out there, God’s got this, and we’re gonna come out victorious!

    Have done the fish oil on and off again for years as well. I think the big difference for me this time will be combining this with some good scripture-based discipline, developing a routine. I worked late last night, was awakened by kids early this morning wanting to go swimming with an aunt. I really wanted to let all that be my excuse to not do the steps today, but my renewed mind said, “Really? That’s all it’s gonna take to derail this? It only takes 35 minutes in the morning, and you’re already seeing results!” So I drank my water and encouraged myself in the mirror, then helped get my kids off, and reset my day right after that with stretching and a good long thankful breakfast. Sitting here now, very thankful for the Holy Spirit, to bring back to memory those things God has spoken to us. Thank you again, Kim! You are definitely the instrument God has used to get me here so far!

    So far so good. Yesterday, on day six, it occurred to me that I’m really not disciplined in most areas of my life. Now that we have a longer list of things to remember, I feel challenged. I like your advice about training our bodies and discipline is a big part of that. I am committed to be serious about these 31 days of small steps. All together they will add up to , hopefully, permanent changes.thank you.

    • Those small steps do add up, Jeanne! For more information about how small steps add up over time (for good results or bad results), I’d suggest checking out the YouTube video by Darren Hardy about his book “The Compound Effect.” In my case, I gained 100 pounds after high school just by overeating 50 calories every day for 20 years! So I know the compound effect works. If I had known that then, I would either eaten 1 bite less, or did a little more walking to have prevented that weight gain. Things turned around when I started using the compound effect to work FOR me rather than against me. You can do the same! God bless you!
