I loved the middle workout routine. This is great for anywhere not just the office. Quick too. I am a busy mom and 15 minutes at a time is about all I have.

    • kimf says:

Hi Natasha – I am glad the workout routine was helpful to you. I love the 10-15 minute block approach to working out. It makes it easier to take advantage of any free time you have to improve your body and your health. Plus, you get an instant boost of confidence and can feel good that you are doing something to reach your goals, no matter how small. Keep it up!

  • Frances says:

    This sounds doable.

I have been following all the steps so far, but my worst enemy is portion control!

I’m gaining instead of losing weight.

Any suggestions on ways to make myself do better portion control. I am down to one serving, but I still put too much on my plate.

I know this sounds dumb, like what’s the problem. Just eat less… But for me it’s my worst enemy.

  • Maria says:

One thing that really helps me is to drink a glass of water every hour ( I use a timer on computer & reset each hour ). When I do this I don’t have as much hunger .
I have also bought myself a beautiful blue & smaller plate when I see my plate I smile with love for God & myself . Only doing this for a little while; so time will tell if this is effective . It sure is effective when I do it & I need to make these 2 things a habit which I am working on .

I started this today officially. I joined a work-out program. God help me to stick with it!!

  • Becky Jane says:

10 minute workout/streching 3 times a day works best for me. I’ve shared youe site with my daughter. Hope she enjoys it too.

    • Kim T says:

Hi Becky Jane – I’ve noticed your faithfulness in posting and it is very inspirational to see you go through the process. Thank you so much for posting – I know that it is motivating others to keep going. God bless you!

  • Courtney says:

I can follow the steps and stick with the plan until I get home in the evening. I want to clean out the refrigerator. I eat a lot more when I am at home. I try to pracice mindful eating and portion control in the evenings, but I am finding it to be quite challenging. I also tend to eat more at home when I am at my computer and doing schoolwork.

Any suggestions on what I should do?

I do feel better about myself though and I like that. I feel that I am making steps towards my goal.

  • Amy Hagerup says:

I sympathize with Courtney above. I know when I get back from working out, I want to eat everything in sight. I try to be very mindful of what I am eating and prepare for those times when I get back from the gym. Something high in protein is good. Blessings, Amy

  • Shawna says:

I was really worried about this step… about taking more time away from my other obligations. But today, the Holy Spirit truly spoke to me times that I could squeeze in some isometric exercises. I didn’t do 10 all in one session, but rather did 2 minutes at 5 different times. I didn’t think about isometrics until the Holy Spirit brought the idea back to me. I am so grateful to God meeting my needs faithfully in this way!

  • Hi Kim,

Someone may have already told you this, but the links above didn’t work for me without removing the v after http in each URL. I am baulking at this step so it probably means I need to find a way of fitting it into my day. I have, more or less, managed to continue with the other steps so I pray God gives me the willingness for this one, too. It is the fear of not being able to do them when you are very overweight.

    • Kim T says:

Thank you for letting me know, Linda! I have corrected these as well as some other links that used the httpv:// protocol. It was connected to a program I no longer use, but forgot to update the links to remove the ‘v’. Thanks again!

  • Linda says:

I am on Day 22 and just thinking about what I can do as a linchpin to fulfill the recommendations of Day 13 on isometric exercises. I am very overweight and have sore knees and just found two of the three videos suggested too difficult to do. As I don’t drive or own a car, the easy one was out for me, too. So, I have pretty much been ignoring that Step, but I am sure you (and God) included it in this plan for a purpose. So, I decided not to give up so easily and look for an alternative group of exercises that I could do now, not when I’m slimmer. After a bit of searching, I came upon this:

    http://www.3fatchicks.com/5-isometric-exercises-you-can-do-at-your-desk/

I’ve just tried it out and can do them without too much difficulty so I would encourage anyone else who was struggling with this step to try these. I feel good that God has made an alternative way and I am grateful that he put it on my heart to persevere.

Thank you all for your encouragement and comments. God bless you.
