  • LouAnn says:

While the Holy Spirit may convict us about an area where we are enslaved, the enemy will condemn us. Conviction will always carry an answer and will lead us to restoration. Condemnation never carries an answer and will only lead to more condemnation–usually self-condemnation and much discouragement. When we choose to give in to the latter, in essence we’re saying that Jesus’ death on the cross (which paid for all sins, even the sin of gluttony/overeating) was not enough. It was enough, of course, and it is enough right now. Grace is greater than all our sin.

Amen, Lou! I could not have said it better myself. It is so important for us to learn to distinguish conviction from condemnation. I LOVE your definition that conviction will always carry an answer and lead to restoration. And so true about giving in to condemnation as saying that Jesus’ death wasn’t enough so you need to keep punishing yourself for your sins. Like you said, grace is greater than any sin. That grace gives you the victory over sin. What a wonderful God has given us with his grace!

This one touches me deeply. I’ve never considered how to truly walk in freedom and newness of life.
